So, there's a spider in my room. And I'm home alone. This means that I've dragged out a mattress and am camped on the lounge room floor since I can't handle getting rid of it or sleeping in my room. If I'd discovered it earlier, I would have either dragged James over or gone over there myself. Psh.
I was supposed to have a meeting at Portable today, but it got cancelled. I was already in the city by then so I went jeans shopping. I hate jeans shopping. It's painful and you never find anything that fits properly. Either way, I bought myself a pair of Levis. They're completely different than any of my other jeans, so I'm still unsure. I figured I'd buy them and wear them around the house with the tags on to decide. It's a bit cheeky, but I don't care.
Otherwise, I'm supposed to be studying for exams/writing essays but so far, it's been a pretty slow start. Tomorrow's my set "essay-writing day" for Media Futures, so hopefully I'll get something productive done. Since it's a report, it's pretty structured too, so I don't have to plan it in as much detail.
House mates come back tomorrow from Canberra. I've enjoyed having the house to myself especially during Swot Vac when you've got nothing to do but stay home and study. Maybe now Gemma can save me from the spider at least?
Life is good. Well, on most accounts anyway.
Uni's finally done for the semester, apart from exams and essays and all that crap. I doubt it'll be too bad though, as long as I stay on top of everything. I just finished my study schedule (it's in excel and colour-coded - I'm such a geek). It was quite sad having my last dance lesson of semester today. I'll try to keep going to the city over the summer though, and I'll definately continue next semester. The uni classes are better in general I think, but it's still so much fun.
I've also managed to get myself a job over summer. I don't start till after exams finish, it's well-paid and relevant to my degree, so it's pretty much perfect. Plus, they don't mind me going away over Christmas and New Years.
In perhaps less exciting news, first gig last night, and well, it was interesting. The keyboard died, which meant that for about half the songs I was just standing there doing absolutely nothing. Luckily I didn't screw up the parts I was able to do though.
Oh well. I've got three Threadless shirts arriving shortly (hooray for $10 sales!) and I'll soon be earning some money so I won't have to feel guilty about buying clothes (I need jeans and new Chucks, mine are broken). Some of the money will probably have to be spent on boring things like refridgerators and couches though seeing as I'll be homeless in a couple of months. Still no definite plans, I just want things sorted!
So, I handed in my Market Research assignment at precisely 4pm, the time it was due. I was stressing I wouldn't get it done and working on it pretty much non-stop all day. Of course, I'd probably have been better off if I had gotten up earlier than 11. Oh well, done is done, and I think it's pretty good. It was a group project, and I hadn't read over alot of the others' stuff until this afternoon. There were a few things I thought were unclear, or had been missed, I tried to fix it up as much as possible, but didn't have time to do a full revamp. Meh.
Got my prescription flled at the pharmacy. $66:40 for 3 months. Why does the pill have to be so expensive? It's worth it, especially 'cause the cheap kind I tried first screwed me over royally, but still, it hurts handing over my card every time.
Nothing else is new in the world of Elin. I'm getting closer and closer to completely finishing Super Mario 64 DS (122 stars!) and I don't know what I'll do when I'm done. James and I have agreed to share our DS games with each other, but he doesn't have any that I've either a) finished, b) gotten bored off, or c) don't want to play. I'm sure I'll figure something out.
I burnt my finger when I was making lunch and it's blistering. Ugh.
Full day at uni today. Nine to four. When i got home I was completely exhausted. And then I think that I used to do that everyday (how did I do it?) and people work longer than that everyday. The uni lifestyle really spoils you. Twelve hours a week? Oh yeah.
I had an interview yesterday for a summer job, a marketing internship for a software company. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because it sounds like good experience and it's well-paid even if it may be a bit boring. It went okay, probably not fantastically, but definately okay. Hopefully Penny gives me a good reference though and they like my writing.
Big Market Research assignment due on Friday. It's a group project and I'm sure we'll be fine, but right now, I'm just doing the boring big - pasting the statistics output into our document and writing what it means. Time-consuming and annoying, even if it's very straight-forward.
A couple of weeks ago I got myself a DS lite, after obsessing over James' (old and ugly) DS. I can't stop playing it, and on Monday my new pretty case arrived for it. See the (slighty blurry) picture below. I should really learn to use my camera properly.
Speaking of cameras, I finally decided to install the software that came with my camera so that I can organize my pictures a bit better on my computer (right now, it's all windows explorer!) Annoyingly enough, I just can't find the disc that came with it. I've got all the various instruction booklets, but the disc is nowhere to be found! And as far as I remember, I just put it with all the other stuff.
